Riches and Wealth

This, that, and all between.

Dark tempting tormenting
What fortuity
You.

HNY or HNFY : You must be wondering what this guy smokes that he is sharing NY wishes after a quarter of the year has passed. Well, well – this is not about December sliding into January and a wintery evening of drink and dance. This is also not about Fools Day on First April. This is about the true-blue-blood-business-celebration of the new financial year, that’s how it is HNFY (Happy New Financial Year). Looking at the better-then-expected sales figures and glancing at the roughly calculated profit statements is a real joy, a true celebration of the year gone by or the coming year. For me this year is a double joy – besides the much-to-brag-about-figures I finally decided to quit. Yes, I’ve quit. That’s good news friends, I quit, YES, quit smoking.
I hope, like me, you too have had a year of fantastic business and something more. So friends celebrate, raise a toast, thank your clients, pat your team, hug your colleagues, let your hair down, pump up the music and swing in the arms of your loved one. The first week is to let go of all the accumulated stress, celebrate and enjoy. Cheers! Hope my HNFY wishes add to your joy in another way this time around. There is always room to celebrate once more, isn’t it ! So with Best Wishes for the New Beginning I send you all Love, Joy, Peace and Good health. <1st April 2022>

Latticed Screen / Jaali at the Sabz Burj, Nizamuddin (views inside and outside). Cut the glare and yet illuminate the space. Cut the gaze yet maintain the aperture view. Cut the heat and humidity and yet let the breeze filter in and cool the high-ceiling space. When the air passes through a drilled pattern of the jaali its velocity increases thus improving the cooling efficacy. And the geometric pattern creates a lovely play of light and shade inside.

This is Shadaab Hajra. Shadaab is from Bengal. He wanted to be an actor, still pines for, he insists. He works for gurgaon municipal corporation. He thinks I am a “phillum delector” just because he saw me making a video of his colleagues who were busy raising a swirl of dust while sweeping the pavement. Shadaab pulls out beaded strings from under the neck of his t-shirt and tells me ‘these are original black pearls’.
