ये दरवाज़े के बाहर बैठी रहती है दरवाज़े के दूसरी तरफ मैं, अंदर। हम दोनों, अक्सर, एक दूसरे का रास्ता काटते रहते हैं। अपशकुन कुल इतना है कि मैं पुकारता हूँ, ये बेचारी डर जाती है। काली बिल्ली कि मस्त सुनहरी आँखों में जाने मैं किस रंग का दिखता हूँ जिसे देख वो डर जाती है। सोच रहें हैं इसे गोद ले ही लिया जाये <Scottish folklore says a black cat arriving at your doorstep signifies incoming wealth. Rain impregnates every womb. Morning walks in monsoons are a spectacle of wonderland. Three days of good rain and we have fungi and mushrooms going wild, clinging on to every surface that would give them a hold. guru google tells me that these are Ganoderma, the common tree fungus, also called Reishi mushroom. Rain, the virile woman, knows how to have fun. All pictures by yours truly.
If you don’t know Lado Bai, you won’t know how maternal love can transform art. Lado churns the very earth and its souls with her visuals. Simplistic to a tee, yet stunningly profound, her art and the Bhil form are nothing short of poetry in visuals. Designing these kinds of indigenous art projects satiate me to the core. How quickly they heal and how elegantly reshape their scars and wounds. Around the same time last year a severe storm and bludgeoned a large branch node off this tree leaving a gash which felt dreadfully painful. In less than an year it has strongly shaped itself to a lion?, a bear? or maybe a large faced monkey or even a dog. Whatever the shape be, it has fascinated me every morning. The walk is never complete without cupping it in my hand each day, like a live pet. It has been christened Shafa. How is the name? – 08 June 2025
