The Book Fair:  दुनिया दो दिन का मेला

<Book Fair> I wonder how many of you have taken a break and have visited the New Delhi World Book Fair. The place, the Book Fair, is not only about a break—from your mundane, boring, stressing and me-the-best environment—it is more about helping you detox from your work-place-spread-negative-vibes. Take a friend along, call over your date, or better, spend a day with yourself, just you and fond memories of happier days. Even sad memories help you pick the best books of poetry, shayri and heart-break fiction. Shove that phone in the deepest pocket of your handbag, browse the books, preferably of your mother-tongue (ma boli), take a stroll in the aisles which smells of paper and ink (trust me it is heady) look around, colourful book covers take your back to your childhood and happy times. There are book release functions, author reading and author signing sessions happening through the day.
Don’t visit it to update yourself on the ‘How to…?’ and ‘HR shenanigans’. Visit to relax with a book on a subject that you like. Pick a book for your child, spouse, your girl/boy friend, your neighbour, your co-commuter, your boss or even a safai wala, a peon in the office, the household help who cant afford one; or even the guy selling munchies on the street. Best is to buy one for yourself. I know, it may be difficult to take time off work, to make the effort to go to the mela but don’t you do it for other Fairs, Fetes and Festivals, so why not the Book Fair. I don’t have a shop there, nor am I promoting a publisher or my book (Although two of my books are available there), all I want to say is de-stress yourself, READ, trust me it calms your nerves. And guess what, being among the books gives you great ideas to WRITE YOUR OWN BOOK. So go, only two days left; and as they say दुनिया दो दिन का मेला
